Headcorn ALG for CFS2
My second scenery add-on and my first for CFS2. I decided to get CFS2 because it would allow me to create an airfield anwhere I wanted to because I could use the terrain flatten switches to flatten the area for the airfield. Headcorn ALG was designed to allow me to test out this new feature and gain experience for the first New Forest scenery. It featured several Blister hangars, Hawker Typhoons and Spitfire MkV's plus a de Havilland Tiger Moth. It was also a test bed for some of the default CFS2 buildings such as tents and anti-aircraft gun emplacements. It requires the Nova texture packs by RG Sanchez for the trees to appear properly. These are available from flightsim.com and simviation.com.
ALG's were Advanced Landing Grounds, simple airfields created to help build up a large fighter-bomber presence in the South of England to assist with the DDay landings. They were never intended to be permanent and often had simple steel mesh matting for their runways or even grass as is the case with my version here.

View of the Blister hangars with the wood in the background

The tented accomodation area in the centre of the wood. CFS2 tent objects by Martin Wright.

The Tiger Moth communications aircraft. Original model by the Pegasus Aviation Design Group, sadly missed.

View of the Blister hangars showing Spitfires at rest in and outside of the hangars. I have scaled the hangars a bit bigger than they should be however it does not detract from the look of the ALG.
